Anna Harris
Anna Harris lives in Christchurch where in addition to her work with spinning, dying, knitting and felting wool she teaches part-time at a local high-school. She also teaches cello and played in the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra for 15 years.
Anna's love of wool, fabric and creativity lead her to nuno felting, a process where wool is layered onto open-weave fabric and then felted. She enjoys experimenting with silk, silk fibres, superfine merino wool, a variety of other wools and alpaca fibre to create original and unique combinations of pattern, design and colour.
Since beginning felting in 2001 Anna has won several national awards in the New Zealand Creative Fibre Exhibition and Fashion Parade and regional awards, including Most Outstanding Item and Best Use of Colour.
